‘Open’ Application Process

To be fair to all applicants interested in Housing, ADP has an ‘open’ application process. This means that application submissions are collected until the deadline date… at which time all are reviewed equally and room assignment decisions are made by House Management. We do this to avoid any ‘first-apply’ rush… and so that you have ample time to review the Housing application documentation and to learn more about the ADP House and Fraternity.

Please understand that, by submitting an application package and deposit cheque, you are not guaranteed room assignment at the ADP House. Your application will be reviewed (along with all others received in the ‘open’ application process) shortly after the deadline date as indicted.

Within five (5) working days of the application deadline date, ADP House Management will inform all prospective applicants of their room assignment status. NOTE: Communication will be through the email address provided on your Resident Info form, so please ensure that it is valid and checked regularly. If accepted, your deposit cheque will be processed, you will be notified of room assignment, and your signed residency contract will be in-effect. If not accepted, you will be notified as such and your deposit cheque will be returned to you (as per the mailing address on the Resident Info form supplied).

As is the nature of our ‘open’ application process, we often receive more Housing applications than we have vacant rooms. As such, many applications will be rejected simply because of the overwhelming demand for the quality student Housing that ADP offers. If you are not accepted for Housing, our apologies… but, if still interested in possible future vacancies, please contact the HM regarding our House Wait List.

Eligibility and Priority Room Assignment

As this is first-and-foremost a Fraternity Residence for the British Columbia Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi, House Management will prioritize room assignment (and room choice) decisions as follows:

1. Fraternity Executive members
2. Fraternity members (general, in good standing)
3. ADP pledges (prospective & pinned new members)
4. Boarders who are interested in ‘pledging’ ADP (preferably 1st or 2nd year)
5. General boarders (not ADP-affiliated)

If you are not currently associated with ADP (i.e. applying as a general boarder), you can improve your chances of room assignment by getting in touch with both ADP House Management and the ADP Fraternity Executive. By learning more about our House and fraternal organization, you can make a better decision as to whether or not ADP is a right fit for you. Similarly, by allowing us to get to know you better, you’re able to separate yourself from the crowd of applicants. Again, our goal every year is to fill the House with AlphaDelts – returning Brothers and new pledges – so, if you are interested in joining our Fraternity, please ask us about it!

If you are currently a Brother of ADP, room choice and assignment decisions are prioritized as per above. However, good standing status within the Fraternity and previous House conduct record will also play a factor in House Management decisions. Do not make assumptions on room availability, rates, etc… always confirm Housing information in advance of application with the House Manager.
