Why Alpha Delta Phi?

Alpha Delta Phi carefully recruits undergraduate men attending the University of British Columbia, issuing bids to men who are strong in character, are highly motivated, and are intent on making their community and world a better place.

This ethos is continually reflected in many of the achievements of our members, who continually strive to serve the community. It’s something we are very proud of.

Did you know….

  • Alpha Delta Phi has been in the top 3 for most sports points for the past 5 years, and have earned more sports points than any other Fraternity for the years 2007/2008 and 2008/2009, winning the IFC Sports Trophy and placing first in the UBC Hindmarch division. With 5,606 sports points, the 51 men of Alpha Delt earned more sports points than any other single group at UBC in 2008/2009, with the exception of the faculty of Medicine (8,341 points among over 2,590 students currently enrolled) and the faculty of Commerce (8,329 points among over 2,700 students currently enrolled).
  • In the 2009/2010 school year, the brothers of Alpha Delta Phi won first place in Day of the Longboat, Great Trek and Storm the Wall to win the Triple crown. This award had not yet been won by any Greek organization, and Alpha Delta Phi brought it home again in 2011. Despite their best efforts to win first place again, the longboat team took second place, but just weeks later won first place in Great Trek for the third year in a row.
  • 100% of Alpha Delta Phi’s membership regularly participated in charity work or not-for-profit organizations in greater Vancouver during 2010/2011, contributing hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of community service and charity work annually.
  • Alpha Delta Phi had more members serving on the Inter-Fraternity Council than any other Fraternity for the year 2008/2009.
  • Alpha Delta Phi had more brothers initiated into the Order of Omega Honour society than any other Fraternity for the year 2009/2009.
  • Alpha Delta Phi has some of the highest involvement rates of any Fraternity on campus, with a 100% participation rate in sports, and 100% of the brothers participating in two or more (usually more) other extra-curricular organizations either at UBC or in the greater community.
  • Alpha Delta Phi has an academic average that significantly higher than the UBC campus average. (Inter-Fraternity statistics are not compiled for 2010/2011)
  • Alpha Delta Phi has a reputation for throwing some of the largest and most successful parties at UBC. With sponsorships from Molson Canada and Rockstar Energy Drinks, Alpha Delta Phi has held some of the highest grossing and most attended Fraternity parties on campus, even outgrowing its own house and exploring larger venues to accommodate guest lists approaching 1000 happy, happy patrons.
