Career and Debate Night

Posted in:Newson April 6th, 2010

Career and debate night is a night for Alumni and actives to get together and bridge the gap. In that sense it was a huge success. We had an awesome showing of upwards of 20 alumni with about the same number of actives. Started off with some appies and a rousing bout of the classic Alpha Delt songs followed by several alumni who spoke on life after school and what Alpha Delta Phi means to them. From there we moved on to the debates, which were lively and entertaining, concluding with a heated debate on Blondes vs. Brunettes, which is better and why. Thanks to all the Alumni and active brothers who came out and made this event a huge success.

Keep an eye out more up coming alumni events, namely alumni sports day held in the summer.

Alpha Delt’s earn 3 shirts in 1 day!

Posted in:Newson March 28th, 2010

Today was a good day for the Alpha Delt’s in the sports department.  Our Alumni storm the wall team, consisting of Jamie Oliver, Falko Wong, Mark Van Eijk, Tim Laidler, and Andrew Cobleigh won the Alumni’s storm the wall event. This win set them up for a good shot at the triple crown as they won longboat earlier in the year. All they need to do now is a win in the triathalon.

The Alpha Delt and ADPi Corec Futsal team also managed to pull off a win earning the Alpha Delt’s their 2nd shirt of the day as they beat the Beta Gams 9-3.

The Alpha Delt’s 3rd shirt came from their win in a tough and close 1 goal  game to Beta in Men’s elite futsal. It was back and forth all game both teams were playing great. However it was the goal in the last 5 minutes from Glendon Inkster that sealed the deal.

The Alpha Delt’s also had a shot at a 4th shirt for the day in men’s 11v11 soccer vs MED FC. This was a hard fought game, where they faced an unlucky break at the end as MED FC capitalized. In overall it was a great season for the team. Thanks again to our imports Paul Gosset, Baldeep Sidhu, and Amit Kainth, they can enjoy our keg at ACF!

Campus wide documentary night

Posted in:Newson March 23rd, 2010

Alpha Delta Phi hosted its first Campus wide documentary night on Monday 22nd March 2010 with great success. As a Literary Fraternity we endeavor to seek and spread knowledge and what better way than to host the Academy Award nominated documentary “Food INC“. The turnout was sound and the event has a promising future as an annual, if not once a semester, event.
